A total of 2,474 Australian women with early invasive breast cancer which were treated by breast surgeons participating in the National Breast Cancer Audit (NBCA) in 2006 were analysed for this report. The majority of participating surgeons were full members of the Breast Section of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS).
